Local-first journal

jurn.ee stores journal moments, photos, notes, corrections, templates, and BodyTrail setup in app or browser storage on your device unless you choose a feature that sends data out.

Export downloads a portable backup to your device. Import reads a backup file you choose. Export and import do not upload journal content to jurn.ee.

Encrypted Plus sync

Encrypted sync stores a backup only after a Plus user chooses to create one. Journal content is encrypted on the device before upload. jurn.ee keeps the limited operational information needed to store and restore the backup.

The recovery key stays with the user. jurn.ee does not keep a copy, so support cannot open the backup or recover a lost key.

Meal scan

Meal scan sends one reduced-size image copy to the configured scanning service so it can produce an editable meal receipt. Body and workout photos are not sent through this feature.

Purchases and product signals

Website checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy. Purchases inside the iOS and Android apps are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play. The selected payment provider receives the purchase details needed to complete payment and provide paid access. Journal photos and notes are not sent to a payment provider.

For a native purchase or restore, jurn.ee sends the store product and transaction proof to its server for verification with Apple or Google. jurn.ee does not receive full card details.

jurn.ee keeps the purchase and access information needed to provide, restore, revoke, and support Plus. The public restore form uses a generic response so it does not reveal whether an email address has purchased Plus.

jurn.ee may store limited information about product use, such as opening the app, viewing an offer, starting checkout, or using backup tools. This information does not include journal photos or notes. If a user joins a waitlist, jurn.ee stores the email address so it can respond.

Support lookups

Support can use purchase details supplied by the customer to find paid access records. These records do not expose journal photos or notes.

Deletion and retention

Deleting a moment removes it from this browser's local journal. jurn.ee support cannot remotely delete local photos or entries from your device.

For a privacy or deletion request, email support with enough purchase information to find the relevant records. jurn.ee can remove the first-party records and optional encrypted backup it controls. Apple, Google, or Lemon Squeezy may retain billing records needed for tax, refund, fraud, and legal obligations.
